Roy Teo, Executive Director, Financial Centre Development Department and FinTech & Innovation Group Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)

Roy heads the Financial Centre Development Department in the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The department supports the growth of Singapore as an international financial centre through nurturing an attractive and conducive business environment for financial institutions, and deepening Singapore’s position as a pan-Asian banking hub. The department fosters key strategic activities and capabilities that contribute to these objectives. He also leads the FinTech ecosystem development work at MAS. The team’s efforts are focused on connecting, collaborating, and co-creating with the FinTech and financial services to grow Singapore’s financial sector and to foster a conducive environment for innovation to flourish. He led the team that put together the Singapore FinTech Festival that brings together a series of distinct FinTech events. The Festival in 2016 was well-received with more than 13,000 registered participants from 60 countries. Roy graduated from NUS with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Computer Science. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Mr David Lee Kuo Chuen, Professor for FinTech and Blockchain, Singapore University of Social Science

Founder of several companies including California-based Left Coast, Singapore's Ferrell Group and BlockAsset. David is a non-executive director of two listed companies. He is the founding investor in Zcash, Qtum and a few other blockchain companies. He is an advisor to Financial Inclusion Institute, and was the Director of the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics at the Singapore Management University. He graduated with BSc, MSc and PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He was the Group Managing Director of OUE and Auric Pacific. He founded Premium Land and was the property developer for Ferrell Residences, a high-end 24-storey residential building in 2006. His operation and managing experience includes F&B, manufacturing, hospitality, hedge funds, stockbroking, property management, property development, REITs, medical plastic components, listing and de-listing of companies, start-ups and multinationals. He is the author of the American Library Association Outstanding Award Reference Book titled Digital Currency by Elsevier and the LASIC model for scalable technology companies. He has been nominated by Internal Consulting Group as a Global Thought Leader for Fintech and Blockchain.

Mr Chia Hock Lai, President, Singapore FinTech Association

He has close to 2 decades of experience in the financial and technology industry and has worked in organisations like Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech) and NTUC Income. Besides being the founding president of the Singapore FinTech Association, he is also a Fellow of the Singapore University of Social Science, member of the Banking & Finance and Fund Industry panel of Nanyang Polytechnic and advisor to start-ups. 

Hock Lai is passionate about how technology is disrupting the way financial services are being delivered to consumers and businesses, and in the process making the financial system more efficient and inclusive.

Daphne Ng, CEO, JEDTrade

Daphne is the CEO of JEDTrade, a blockchain technology company focused on trade, supply chain and financial inclusion projects in ASEAN, with presence in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam. Prior to this, she has 10 years of specialized experience in trade and supply chain finance across major international banks.

Daphne is Exco Member of Singapore Fintech Association and Secretary General of ACCESS Singapore Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Industry Association. She is also a regular speaker and advisor on the applications of blockchain in finance and supply chains; and is a Fellow (Fintech) at SUSS and Knowledge Partner for International Trading Institute at SMU.
