Responsible for effectiveness and efficiency of both in-house and outsourced maintenance contracts as well as the use of assets and spares for NEL / SPLRT Permanent Way & Civil Structures department Manage, plan and execute team maintenance work according to developed plans, procedures and work instructions to meet established safety, reliability and availability targets Conduct periodical quality control inspections. Review, compile and prepare data for departmental maintenance reports. Plan, organize and lead ad-hoc projects contributing to improvement in maintenance processes and reliability enhancement.
Recognized degree in Engineering. Chartered Engineer accreditation will be an added advantage. 8 years or more in terms of relevant experience in construction, civil engineering and / or permanent way in railway environment will be highly advantageous. Familiar with maintenance of permanent way and civil structure systems. Resourceful and result-oriented not only as an individual contributor but also an inspirational team lead with flair in people management. Able to commit to ad-hoc night shifts and perform operational stand-bys. Able to identify colors in the course of work.
