What You Will Do: The application engineer (data center project) is responsible for providing technical support, primarily through customer quotations and business development case studies for various composite applications. The role emphasizes understanding customer requirements and quickly demonstrating how composite-based solutions can meet those needs, including costing, timelines, and resource planning. This position involves travel with the business development team to customer facilities. How You Will Do It: Provide technical customer support by analyzing queries related to building management systems (BMS), schedules, tooling costs, and design/process improvements. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and operations to align on fabrication techniques, composite materials, and customer requirements. Deliver technical presentations, including 3D visualizations of finished products and tooling concepts. Prepare cost estimates by reviewing technical documentation and consulting with engineering teams. Develop conceptual and CAD-based designs of composite components and assemblies to support proposals. Generate detailed bills of materials and support proposal documentation. Work closely with internal teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. Familiarity with ACMV systems and Johnson Controls Metasys is a plus.
