As a Preschool Teacher, you will plan and implement age-appropriate lessons that support children’s developmental milestones and curriculum goals, adapting activities to meet individual needs and encourage exploration, creativity, and critical thinking. You will create a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment, using positive guidance to manage behaviour while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of every child in your care. You will observe, track, and document children’s progress, provide regular feedback to parents, and tailor activities to accommodate diverse learning styles. Collaboration with colleagues, participation in training and staff meetings, and engagement in centre events are integral to your role. You will also foster positive partnerships with families and the community by maintaining open and supportive communication, addressing concerns professionally, and sharing strategies to support learning at home. Continuous professional development is expected to ensure you stay up to date with best practices in early childhood education, as well as to share ideas and resources with peers to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
Candidates must have a minimum GCE ‘O’ Level with a grade C6 or equivalent in English. A Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education – Teaching (DECCE-T or CECCCE), or a Diploma in Child Psychology & Early Education is required, along with ECDA certification at L1 or L2 level. Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles is essential. Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude. Effective classroom management skills and the ability to handle challenging behaviours are required. Collaboration and teamwork skills are important, as is proficiency in using technology to enhance children’s learning and navigate internal systems. Experience working with young children in a preschool setting is preferred, though fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
