Full time attachment at one of our childcare centres in Singapore under mentorship with a mentor teacher, the trainee teacher will be coached through the apprentice program undergoing respective courses and will be able to assume the role as a Infant Care/Childcare Teacher upon completion of the course on the following: Plan, supervise and implement the programme for the class in accordance with the centre’s policies and framework. Complete progress reports on children for each semester and prepares a developmental portfolio for each child. Set up and create a stimulating and engaging pleasant learning environment that promotes self-directed learning. Responsible for all aspects of classroom management and carrying out routine care duties to ensure the safety and hygiene of the children. Work closely with the other teaching staff in the class in carrying out the duties. Build and maintain a close partnership with parents. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High tolerance level towards children is an advantage. Able to work well independently as well as within a team.
Diploma in Early Childhood - Local Polytechnic Diploma and obtained a GCE 'O' Level credit in English (EL1), or a minimum band 6.5 in IELTS (Academics), OR Obtained a Degree with English as the medium of instruction from a state-recognised university, OR 5 GCE 'O' Level credits with a pass in English. Advanced Certificate in Early Years - For local qualification: Completed Secondary 4 education. For foreign qualification: Completed 10 years of formal education. Language proficiency requirement: (a) GCE O-level credit in the English Language as First Language (b) English Language Acceptable Alternative (ELAA) or (c) an average score of 5 in the Workplace Literacy (WPL) Comprehensive Series (Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing) with a minimum of 5 in the Writing component. Higher Certificate in Infant Care - For local qualification: Completed at least Secondary Two education. For foreign: Completed at least 8 years of formal education. Language proficiency: An average Statement of Attainment (SOA) of 4 in the WSQ Workplace Literacy (WPL) series, which includes reading, listening, speaking, and writing components.
