Job Detail

Read and interpret mechanical drawings (P&IDs, general arrangements), specifications, and equipment manuals. Inspect piping, valves, pumps, engines, rotating and static equipment to ensure proper installation, alignment, and cleanliness. Verify bolting, torque, lubrication, and fluid levels prior to equipment start-up. Assist in flushing and pressure testing of various mechanical systems (hydraulic, fuel, cooling, ballast, cargo). Support start-up pre-checks, line walks, punch list generation, and clearing for marine mechanical systems including mooring winches, HVAC, hose reels, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits. Conduct functional and performance testing on mechanical systems and equipment. Collaborate with electrical, automation, and piping teams during system integration testing. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults and non-conformities. Participate in shift-based watchkeeping duties for mechanical and electrical system monitoring. Maintain accurate records of test results, readings, and commissioning documentation. Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical commissioning within marine/offshore environments. Strong knowledge of piping systems, mechanical equipment, and marine machinery. Familiar with static and rotating equipment, lifting gear, and system testing procedures. Able to communicate effectively in English and Chinese to liaise with Chinese-speaking clients and counterparts. Willingness to work in yard or offshore environments with shift duties.
