The incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the manufacturing process to ensure that production meets customer demand efficiently and on schedule. Develop, update, and manage production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity. Ensure timely and efficient flow of materials, components, and products through the production process. Adjust schedules to accommodate changes in demand, material availability, or production constraints. Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials and components are available to meet production schedules. Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely procurement of raw materials. Minimize inventory costs while maintaining adequate stock levels. Analyze production capacity and ensure efficient allocation of resources such as machinery and labour. Forecast future capacity needs based on demand and production capabilities. Liaise with production, procurement, and sales departments to align on production goals, deadlines, and priorities. Communicate production delays or issues to relevant stakeholders promptly. Track production performance and monitor key metrics such as output, efficiency, and quality. Analyze production data to identify process improvements and optimize resource utilization. Prepare regular reports on production performance, capacity utilization, and bottlenecks. Continuously evaluate and improve production planning processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce production waste and lead times. Resolve production scheduling conflicts, including machine breakdowns, material shortages, or labour issues. Implement contingency plans to manage unexpected disruptions in the production process. Ensure all production activities comply with industry regulations and quality standards. Collaborate with quality assurance to integrate quality checks within the production schedule.

Job Requirements

Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of production processes and capacity planning Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is an advantage Entry level candidates are welcome to apply
