Analyze current jobs: tasks, process steps, handoffs, systems, pain points, compliance and safety requirements. Conduct time-and-motion/task analysis and identify waste, variation, and automation opportunities. Redesign roles (tasks, responsibilities, RACI), improve workflows, and clarify interfaces between teams. Define competency, certification, and training requirements for redesigned roles. Update job descriptions, job families, career paths, and evaluation criteria. Pilot redesigned jobs; collect feedback and iterate for usability, safety, and effectiveness. Develop SOPs, visual work instructions, and role handbooks. Implement change management: comms, training, coaching, and adoption supports. Coordinate with HR on grading, compensation alignment, and performance frameworks. Ensure legal, regulatory, and union/industrial relations considerations are met. Build measurement approach: productivity, quality, safety, customer metrics, and employee experience. Partner with IT/Automation teams to embed tools, ergonomics, and human-centered design. Document benefits and ROI; create replication blueprints for scale-up.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Systems Engineering, HR, Business, Operations Management, Organizational Psychology, or related field. 4-6 years in job redesign, process improvement, operations excellence, or HR consulting. Demonstrated experience producing high-quality job descriptions, SOPs, and competency models. Experience in one or more domains (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, public sector, retail, or services).
