Design and optimize electro-mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and tooling for cleanroom manufacturing. Develop detailed assembly procedures, BOMs, and work instructions compliant with cleanroom and ESD standards. Select and qualify components, materials, and processes minimizing particle generation and contamination. Perform DFMA analysis and support NPI from prototype to production. Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure high-yield cleanroom assembly. Specify and validate automated/semi-automated assembly equipment. May provide guidance to junior engineers, interns, or project support staff as needed.
Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering. 2–5 years’ experience in electro-mechanical design and cleanroom assembly (medical, semiconductor, optics, or aerospace preferred). Strong knowledge of cleanroom protocols, contamination control, and ESD prevention. Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks/Creo), GD&T, tolerance analysis. Experience with precision mechanisms, wiring harnesses, soldering, and micro-assembly. Concise and targeted for high-tech cleanroom product development roles. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus. Able to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally. Must be able to distinguish colour. No allergies to latex or respiratory issues affecting project site work.
