Assisting in Activities of Daily Living for students aged 7-18 yrs old: meals, toileting, stretching exercises, manual transfer (older children can weigh heavier >70kg) etc. Ensure safe arrival and departure of students to each designated classroom and transport. Ensure safety during transitions and community outings. Maintain cleanliness and safety of classrooms and maintenance of equipment. Ad-hoc: Travel with students on bus transport to support behavior management. Conduct basic or routine physical exercises with students. Inventory control and equipment maintenance. Workplace safety and health. 2 groups of students - Autism Spectrum Disorder and Multi-disability (eg cerebral palsy): Multi-Disability side: focuses on meeting their needs, assisting them, Autism Spectrum Disorder side: focuses also on engaging them and managing them. BCA will be required to be familiar with ADLs mainly to assist in toileting students, however manual transferring is not needed as they have allied professionals who will assist with the medically fragile students.
