● Handling and Transfer of Deceased: ○ Transferring bodies from hospital wards or accident & emergency (A&E) departments to the mortuary. ○ Managing the intake and release of deceased individuals, including verifying identification and documentation to ensure accuracy. ○ Assisting with the placement of bodies into refrigerated storage compartments or onto autopsy tables. ● Autopsy/Post-Mortem Support: ○ Assisting pathologists or medical examiners during post-mortem examinations or autopsies. ○ Laying out the necessary surgical instruments and laboratory supplies. ○ Assisting in the collection of tissue specimens or organs as directed by medical staff. ● Maintenance and Hygiene: ○ Ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of the mortuary room, autopsy tables, and equipment. ○ Cleaning and disinfecting surgical instruments used during examinations. ○ Maintaining the mortuary environment, including checking refrigeration units and equipment. ● Administrative Tasks: ○ Maintaining accurate records and logs for all bodies received and released. ○ Ensuring all paperwork related to the deceased is completed and filed correctly. ○ Handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality. ● Communication: ○ Liaising with hospital staff, police, and funeral directors during the release process. ○ Communicating with the families of the deceased with empathy and professionalism, if required to interact with them (though this is often handled by administrative or nursing staff). ● Wiping/cleaning (equipment/cabinet/racks) ● Cleaning of therapy bed ● Clear soiled linen ● Help therapist request
