Design and model deployment mechanisms (hinges, latches, actuators, and spring-loaded systems) in Autodesk Fusion 360. Perform FEA, motion, and tolerance simulations to validate kinematics and structural integrity. Develop folding and deployment sequences optimized for launch and in-orbit operation. Select materials and components suitable for vacuum, vibration, and thermal extremes. Generate technical drawings and manufacturing data for flight and test hardware. Support integration, functional testing, and environmental qualification of mechanical systems. Work closely with systems, avionics, and propulsion engineers to ensure seamless subsystem integration.
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering. Proficiency in Fusion 360 (CAD, FEA, and Motion Analysis). Experience designing mechanical or electromechanical mechanisms (deployables, hinges, or robotics). Familiarity with space-rated materials, lubricants, and mechanisms for microgravity environments.
