JOB DESCRIPTION Department: Factory Business Engineering / Factory Automation Department Reports to: Factory Business Engineering Engineer Functional Relationships with: Manufacturing department user and system integrators Position Profile: Based in: Yishun Successful candidate will: The Network and Factory Automation Engineer is the hybrid role responsible for the availability, security and continuous improvement of the factory's information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) environment. The position supports industrial networks, machine connectivity, factory automation systems and manufacturing data interfaces. The engineer ensures reliable communication from shop-floor devices, PLCs and HMIs through supervisory and factory automation systems. Key Duties & Responsibilities • Factory Network Operations Configure, install, document and support the factory network, manage switches and related network services. Maintain resilient and scalable infrastructure for manufacturing areas. • Automation and Equipment Integration Integrate PLCs, barcode scanners, sensors, industrial PCs and material-handling equipment. Configuration, testing on the automation system setup for new machines and upgrades. • Machine-to-System Connectivity and Data Collection Establish and maintain machine data connections and interfaces to Manufacturing Execution System. • Incident Response and Downtime Reduction Monitor network infrastructure, respond promptly to failures, perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, restore services safely, and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions. • Performance and Continuous Improvement Analyze network, system and machine data to identify bottlenecks, recurring faults and improvement opportunities.
