The Teacher Assistant supports teachers in creating a safe and conducive learning environment by preparing learning materials, assisting students during lessons, and guiding them in completing activities. The role involves building positive relationships with students, supporting teachers in setting individualised goals, monitoring student progress and behaviour, and implementing behavioural plans under supervision. The Teacher Assistant is also expected to participate in professional development to continuously enhance their knowledge and skills.
Minimum GCE ‘O’ Levels 3 credits; or Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 in Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and Numeracy.
