1) Plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers to perform scheduled Preventive Maintenance on Signaling, Communication & Supervisory Control Equipment, as assigned by supervisors. 2) Plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers to perform Corrective Maintenance, including troubleshooting, investigation and fault rectification on Signaling, Communication & Supervisory Control Equipment, as assigned by supervisors. 3) Plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers to perform modification and tasks in compliance with approved Work Instructions. 4) Plan team duty rosters in consultation with the Engineering Maintenance Manager. 5) Assist in supervising and coaching of new staff and conducting on the job training 6) Disseminate any instructions and procedures issued by supervisors to the team members. 7) Perform all necessary maintenance administration and documentation (E.g. Record faults reported, raise maintenance work orders, complete work orders in maintenance management system and any other recording system.) 8) Interpret electrical, electronic and computer network single line drawings. 9) Operate safely and efficiently using Test Equipment, Instruments and Tools 10) The Assistant Engineer is responsible for the safety of his team. Comply with and exercise safety at all times in accordance to all Safety Procedures. Report any safety concerns at the workplace. 11) Perform the role of Person-In-Charge (PIC) and Possession Mater (PM) duties and responsibilities as applicable 12) Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works, as assigned by supervisor. Examples include a. Responding to emergency operations responses, b. Assist in the execution of projects; including testing & commissioning, attendance to contractors, etc c. Supervise contractors' work. d. Preparation of reports e. Provide logistics support f. Housekeeping 13) Carry out administrative duties or any duty as assigned by Supervisor or Branch Manager. 14) Work in any of SMRT Lines or Maintenance Depots, as assigned by supervisors. 15) Work in rotating or fixed shifts (in accordance with MOM guidelines), as assigned by supervisors. 16) Work at heights to perform maintenance activities (Training and qualifications will be provided by company).
Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution Higher NITEC or NITEC qualification in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with a minimum 5 years experience as Technical Officer. Must be prepared to perform duties on shifts and preferably possess Class 3 driving licenses. Railway related experience or knowledge or qualification and/or previous working experience in site work supervision would have an added advantage.
