Today, we are looking for a SOUS CHEF with relevant working experience. You should be in Culinary trained and have professional skills in Japanese Cuisine. You are passionate and curious to develop and grow as a chef. You must possess consistent and stable work experience and encompass the desire to operationally support the business as an individual contributor and leader. You will assist the Head Chef in monitoring kitchen activities, expediting orders to ensure quality taste or presentation, and taking on additional responsibilities in the Head Chef’s absence to ensure that kitchen members have proper direction. You will help in the preparation and design of all food menus. Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards. Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards. To work closely with members to prepare various dishes. In a fast-paced environment, knowing how to collaborate effectively helps them create high-quality dishes promptly. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers. You will help with the hiring and training of new kitchen members. Ensure all kitchen members perform their duties beyond expectations. Establish a working schedule and assess staff’s performance. Ability to effectively manage the kitchen members, motivate them, and assign duties fairly. You are responsible for providing supportive leadership to kitchen members throughout food service. You will manage the P&L, Labour, purchasing, vendors, and quality control. Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately. Ability to multitask and work quickly under pressure. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Well-versed and timely email etiquette as well as written and verbal communication. You are required to have a strong problem-solving skill. Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation. And have a good level of physical strength and stamina to finish preparing all the dishes on time.
1. Culinary trained and have professional skills in Japanese Cuisine. 2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with staff, customers, and vendors. 3. Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and make sound decisions under pressure. 5. Proficient in using restaurant management software, POS systems, and other relevant computer applications. 6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. 7. Ability to conduct on the job training and performance review for new hires / existing members 8. Ability to effectively manage the kitchen members, motivate them, and assign duties fairly 9. High level of attention to detail 10. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the restaurant industry. 11. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and adapt to changing schedules and demands.
