Oversee students in classroom settings as well as non-classroom settings like outdoor play, learning journey and snack time. Assist class teachers in routines such as changing, snack time. Work in small groups or one-on-one with students in the classroom to reinforce instructional material. Assist class teacher in organizing the learning environment, preparing materials and maintaining resources. Encouraging student participation, promoting positive behavior, and reinforcing classroom rules and expectations. Perform recordkeeping duties associated with the classroom including attendance. Facilitate students in proper classroom procedures and behavior. Collaborate with teachers on a regular basis regarding student progress. Adapt instructional materials as necessary to meet special education guidelines. Work with class teacher in managing challenging behaviours. Supervise the safety of students in and out of the classroom, following guidelines and implementing school standards under the direction of the class teacher.
