The Assistant Manager, Engineering and Security is responsible for monitoring the overall efficiency of the entire Hotel in the implementation of procedures for services, such as maintenance of the property operations, M&E operations etc. He/she also manages the day-to-day security operations at and controls the overall performance of the security team, to ensure adequate supervision and surveillance in accordance with all security aspects. · Manage the daily activities of the department, plan and organise work, communicate goals and schedule employees to ensure proper coverage. · Ensure all staff is properly trained and have tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties. · Educate and train employees on current safety issues to ensure compliance with all federal state and local laws and safety regulations. · Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. May assist with other duties as assigned and may serve as “manager on duty” as required. · Maintain and repair the interior and exterior of buildings, plants and equipment, guest rooms and contents. · Ensure the execution and achievement of the hotel preventive maintenance program goals. · Monitor and control expenses within all areas of the department. Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and finance. · Establish and maintain procedures to: (1) ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, television etc. (2) replenish supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner and (3) to minimise waste. · Interpret and implement policies and procedures, evaluate staff and make hiring and termination recommendations. · Work with cluster engineer and/or outside architects regarding renovations and other such projects, contact contractors for bids and/or quotations and meet with appropriate construction supervisors. · Responsible for determining the security requirements necessary to ensure that the serviced apartment, employees and guests are protected against any emergency crisis outlined in the Crisis Manual. Manage the relationship with a third-party security firm contracted for such purposes. · Takes care of the manpower planning, attendance, rostering for the department, as well as being involved in crisis management, incident reporting and investigation works etc. · Assist with any other duties assigned.

Job Requirements

The candidate should possess the following: · An Engineering Degree or at least a Technical Diploma · At least 8 years relevant work experience, with a minimum of 3 years in the hospitality industry in a supervisor position. · Good written and verbal communication in the English Language · Ability to maintain and repair relevant machinery
