The Port Limit Engine Driver is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of engines and related machinery on port limit vessels, ensuring the vessel's machinery is in proper working order at all times. The role involves collaborating closely with the Tug Master and crew to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations within Singapore’s port limits.
Operate and monitor the main engines, auxiliary engines, and other machinery on the vessel. Perform routine maintenance and checks on all machinery, ensuring they function within safety and operational standards. Troubleshoot and repair any mechanical issues that may arise while the vessel is in operation. '-Maintain accurate records of engine performance, maintenance work, and any repairs carried out. -Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maritime regulations regarding the engine room and machinery operation. -Conduct fuel, oil, and lubricant checks, ensuring the vessel has sufficient supplies for its operational needs. -Assist the Tug Master in preparing the vessel for sailings, including startup and shutdown procedures of engines and auxiliary machinery. -Participate in emergency drills and be familiar with safety protocols related to engine and machinery operations. -Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the engine room and all associated equipment.
