Job Detail

• Assists in serving of meals and drinks to the residents. • Assists in oral feeding to residents without swallowing disorders. • Assists in activities of daily living (ADL) of residents – diaper changing, bathing, hair care, oral care, skin care, under the supervision of nursing staff. • Be alert to resident’s movements within the room and / or ward and offers assistance whenever needed. • Assists in positioning, transfers and ambulating of residents with other healthcare providers. • Performs general housekeeping to maintain cleanliness of the nursing home e.g. mopping, sweeping and washing. • Maintains cleanliness and tidiness of resident’s environment e.g. tidiness of resident’s beds and lockers etc. • Gives, removes and sanitises bedpans, urinal and commodes. • Assists in keep watch on suicidal or restless residents when assigned. • Carries out errands as requested by ward staff and other duties assigned by nurses. • Utilises proper transferring technique to safely transfer residents from bed to chair, chair to bed etc under the supervision of trained staff. • Practises handwashing and infection control principles before, during and after resident care activities. • Exercise economy and care in the use of equipment and supplies. • Preceptorship to new HAs. • Provides general housekeeping duties to ensure a neat, clean, safe and conducive environment for residents and staff. • Assists in the proper storage of linens and ward supplies as directed. • Sends equipment / furniture to the appropriate department for repair and maintenance
