• Be professional, legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of his/her own work including the management of residents in his/her care. • Ensure a high standard of clinical care to the residents under his/her management. • To undertake comprehensive assessments of residents and to formulate effective, clinically reasoned treatment plans. • Carry out timely assessment and treatment of residents. • Competent in using a wide variety of assessment techniques and skills. • Assess residents’ needs for any rehabilitative equipment and aids to improve safety and functioning. • To conduct training for residents, carers, family members and other care staff on the use of any equipment issued. • Maintain and demonstrate his/her own clinical professional development by keeping up to date with new treatment trends and research, incorporating them into his/her work as necessary. • Ensure best practice at all times by outcome evaluation, attendance at post graduate courses and reading current literature. • Demonstrate highly developed therapeutic handling skills requiring dexterity, co-ordination and palpation skills for accurate assessment, treatment and handling of residents. • Assess effectively, set appropriate goals, implement appropriate treatment plans, execute safe therapy, re-assess timely and modify treatment when necessary for individuals requiring physiotherapy. • Practice within areas of professional competence. • Communicate and work effectively with care professionals and other healthcare workers from the Home. • Attend and participate in meetings, ward rounds, multi-disciplinary meetings and other professional meetings as required by the Home relating to rehabilitative care of residents. • Comply with policy and procedures, clinical standards, operational KPIs and service qualities of the Home. • Design, develops, implements and evaluates the therapy regime of residents. • Performs a wide variety of clinical assessments and procedures to detect, manage and meet resident’s physical, mental and psychosocial needs. • Carries out treatment and procedures prescribed for residents accordingly to expected standards of practice and guidelines. • Works proactively on discharge planning with residents and family in a resourceful and helpful manner to facilitate safe discharge from the Home. • Provides guidance and direction to therapy aides to ensure that quality rehabilitative care is rendered to all residents. • Guide and advise on professional matters and general administration of the department. • Documents in care record promptly, accurately and concisely on interventions and therapy matters pertaining to resident’s stay in the Home. • Provides and supervises the activities of daily living training and health education to residents, families and the community. • Builds and maintains good interpersonal relations with all colleagues, residents and public. • Exercise economy and care in the use of equipment and supplies. • Practises and reinforces on proper decontamination procedures and infection control measures. • Provides orientation, guidance, mentoring and coaching to new and less experienced staff. • Works with the Senior Physiotherapist and Director of Nursing in activities related to the smooth running of the Therapy department and maintenance of standard of care.
• Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution and licensed to practice in Singapore. • Minimum 2 years of experience in working in a Hospital / Community Hospital / Rehabilitation Centres / Nursing Home preferred. • Fresh graduates from local university or polyclinic are accepted. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; can communicate clearly and effectively.
