• Work under the supervision of SPT, PT and OT to implement individual and group exercises and treatments to residents; or social and recreational activities. • Assist in preparing the therapy room by following prescribed procedures and protocols, including tidying therapy areas and assisting in cleaning and disinfection of equipment and area(s). • Prepare residents for physical and occupational therapy treatment activities by assisting residents into therapy apparels, and escorting residents to and from the ward and therapy room. • Assist the therapist(s) in implementing rehabilitation programmes and therapy works to residents including setting up / supervising / assisting residents in the performance of therapeutic activities / exercises, such as helping residents onto exercise equipment, positioning residents on equipment, and monitoring motion and performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques, etc. • Educate residents by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines. • Ensure operation of therapy equipment by completing routine maintenance requirements; following manufacturers’ instructions; troubleshooting and reporting of malfunctions; and calling for repairs. • Perform basic data entry and retrieval of data when required. • Carries out treatment and procedures prescribed for residents accordingly to expected standards of practice and guidelines. • Documents in care record accurately and concisely on interventions and therapy matters. • Builds and maintains good interpersonal relations with all colleagues, residents and public. • Maintains a safe, clean and conducive environment for the residents and staff. • Practises proper decontamination procedures and infection control measures. • Works with the SPT, PT and OT in activities related to the smooth running of the Therapy department and maintenance of standard of care. • Assist SPT, PT and OT in procedures that include gait training, Activities of Daily Living training, active and passive exercise and muscular re-education with the use of mobility aids and equipment, and modalities for pain management. • Assist the therapists in providing appropriate therapy treatments (includes lifting, transferring and transporting residents).
