About the Talk

In this talk, Head of HSCA Academy, also an established chef, Mr. Sony HAQ, will take participants through the career insights, roles and journey in the culinary industry. 

You will have the opportunity to take a tour into an industry-relevant kitchen and experience ‘live’ Chinese Wok cooking demonstration by Chef Boon! 

About HSCA Academy 

A shared vision by two culinary enthusiasts on HCSA Community Services’ Board in 2016, Tony Lim and Dominique Choy, led to the conceptualisation of a centre that would provide culinary and career skills training, and facilitate job placement, for vulnerable individuals looking to sustain a career in the F&B industry. 

Officially opened by Dr. Yaacob Ibrahim on 8 May 2018, the Academy is an Approved Training Centre (ATO) certified by SkillsFuture Singapore to run WSQ Culinary Courses. Comprising a modern industry-relevant kitchen with an attached 70-seater dining space, the Academy is well-equipped to handle culinary team bonding workshops and private dining events, in addition to culinary training courses.

The courses provided by HCSA Academy is open to members of the public who have an interest and passion for the wonders in the culinary world!
