Intro to Swift Programming and iOS App Development (5th Sep 2024)

This workshop provides a practical introduction to the Swift programming language and iOS app development using the SwiftUI framework. It includes an overview of Swift basics, including Playgrounds, variables, data types, control flow, strings, functions, and structures, introduced via a series of hands-on tutorials. Participants begin their app development journey by getting to know Xcode, Swift, and SwiftUI in the first project where they will create a chat app prototype using text views. Next, participants will learn how to create custom views and properties to create a multi-day weather forecast page. Finally, participants will learn useful tools like layout and style to position views on a screen as desired, culminating in the creation of beautiful onboarding screens for an iOS app.
